About this experience

On the river.

A ghillie is the river keeper who knows every pool on a beat and where the fish lie at each height of water. A day with one is a day spent learning a river, whether or not anything takes the fly.

We arrange a rod on a beat of the Spey, the Dee, the Tay or an island river. Seasons and catch-and-release rules vary by river and districtverify.

Beginners get casting lessons on the bank first. Experienced rods get the best beat we can find for the dates. Lunch is in the fishing hut.
